  • The International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) is “a not-for-profit membership-based organization, with different chapters around the world, for individuals and organizations that are focused on accessibility or are in the process of building their accessibility skills and strategies.” IAAP focuses mainly in the technological accesibility, recogniting the importance of a well trained workforce to implement universal design principles in all their activities

With the aim of helping professionals to network and improve their knowledge, IAAP has designed a system of certification to guarantee a formal accessibility profession, either in corporations, government agencies and educational institutions.

This platform can be joined by organizations or individuals to collaborate, share knowledge and access to resources. There is a section of education with different webinars. The different certifications which can be achieved are: Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies, Web Accessibility Specialist and Professional in Web Accessibility.

In collaboration with GAATES (Global Alliance on Accessible Technologies and Environments), IAAP is also certifying proffessionals of accessibility in the built environment by the International Certification of Accessibility Consultants - Built Environment (ICAC-BE)
